Black-figure kylix
The painter of Louvre F 28

Zeus is seated on a folding stool. He is represented with head and legs in profile to the right, the body diagonally. Seated, he is as tall as the surrounding standing figures. The right forearm is extended almost horizontally forward, the hand with extended fingers seen on the back. The left forearm is extended obliquely upward, the hand holding a spear. The god has a pointed beard and wears his long hair loose, with a taenia. His dress consists of a chiton and a himation, which partly covers the arms.

Athena is represented standing on the lap of Zeus, head and legs in profile to the right, the body facing. Her dress presumably consists of a peplos. She wears a helmet, carries a shield bearing a tripod as device on the left arm, and holds a spear in the right hand.

There is one goddess on each side of the picture. On the right stands a goddess, the right forearm raised, the hand with extended fingers seen on the palm, the left forearm extended almost horizontally forward, the hand with extended fingers seen on the back. On the left a goddess, the left forearm raised, the hand with extended fingers seen on the palm, the right forearm extended forward, the hand with extended fingers seen on the back. There are also two naked and one dressed male figure on each side of the picture, but they are not concerned in the event.

Three ribbons hang on the wall. Meaningless inscriptions are seen between the figures.
